Patricia Nyati
Patricia Nyati is a Legal Practitioner with over 11 years’ post-admission experience, specialising in Technology and Telecommunications Law. She is a Certified Personal Information and Privacy Practitioner (Europe) and a Certified Privacy Manager with the International Association of Privacy Professionals. Patricia currently serves as the Group Data Protection Officer for a multinational telecommunications company, overseeing data protection and privacy compliance across more than 14 operations spanning Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America.
She has extensive experience in establishing and leading full-spectrum data protection governance programmes, ensuring organisational compliance with applicable privacy legislation, developing privacy strategies for new products and systems, engaging with regulatory authorities, and coordinating audit and registration processes. Patricia is also actively involved in training and capacity building on data protection law, policy, and best practice. She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Walter Sisulu University in South Africa and is awaiting graduation from Queen Mary University of London with a Master’s Degree in Telecommunications, Technology, and Media Law.
